Summary: “Love over board” tells the story of Ember, who has finally achieved one of her biggest goals and starts working as a chief stewardess on a yacht. At the same time, she’s also participating in a reality TV show that follows her and the yacht’s other crew members every step of the way. She couldn’t be happier, but on her first day, she realizes that her ex-boyfriend Finn is also working on the yacht. The ex-boyfriend who broke her heart terribly two years ago and whom she still hasn’t quite gotten over. Can the two of them remain professional or will the eight weeks at sea end in disaster? Opinion: In “Love over board” get ready for a second-chance romance on a yacht, complete with a reality TV show and tropes like forbidden love, forced proximity, “Below Deck” vibes and plenty of drama. I found this book incredibly entertaining. The chemistry between Ember and Finn was palpable throughout and you really find yourself rooting for them. I also found the other characters very interesting and well-developed. I also liked that at the beginning of each chapter there’s a short interview between the producers of the reality TV show and one of the participants. This gives you even more insight into the characters and maybe even a hint or two about what’s coming next. I found the first half to be a bit slow, but once you reach the middle of the book, that feeling completely disappears and you won’t want to stop reading. The book is written entirely from Ember’s perspective and although she alone is entertaining enough, I still would have liked a few chapters from Finn’s point of view. In conclusion, I highly recommend “Love Overboard” and give it 4 out of 5 stars.
