Rezension von Amely🦋Ich muss zwar sagen, dass ich gegen Ende immer noch etwas verwirrt war, dennoch mochte ich das Buch ganz gerne!! Da das Buch ja Teil einer Reihe ist, gehe ich mal davon aus, dass sich meine Verwirrung in Zukunft aufklärt. Ich mag es unglaublich gerne, wenn Autoren ihre eigenen Erfahrungen in ihr Buch mit einfließen lassen. Dadurch gehen einem die intendierten Emotionen, die Szenerie und die Handlungen noch näher als sie sonst würden!! Ich mochte das Buch ganz gerne, die Charaktere sind interessant und komplex (und manchmal nervig was in meinen Augen etwas positives sein kann) Der Erzählstil ist ebenfalls so interessant, dass man sich in den Worten verliert! Ich kanns kaum erwarten das zweite Buch zu lesen!!

Rezension von booq_cafeBree is a great protagonist! She is brave, a little different and raises her voice for all the right reasons. I enjoyed her temper and that she doesn’t take shit from anybody. Her best friend Alice seems like a balance for Bree, but unfortunately she doesn’t take up much space in this book. Towards the end she seems to get a bit more involved though and I hope to get to know her better in the sequel. The two main male characters are very different form each other. Nick is just a sweetheart! Everybody should have a Nick in their life. But as always there appears a dark and handsome man and we are all just humans here so we can’t fault Bree for maybe looking twice in his direction. These characters seemed very promising for the best kind of tension and there was some, but could have been more. I am hoping again for the sequel. The story was a bit slow in the beginning and I had to get to know all the different words and workings of this world. I loved the King Arthur adaption because I am a sucker for this tale (also looooved the TV show as a teenager). There could have been a little less explaining and more learning by doing. I think that would have helped the pacing a bit. This book discusses very important topics in an entertaining way (POC characters, LGBTQ+ characters…) and I think this is very important and should be emphasized in more stories. Especially in fantasy, because I feel we are not where we are supposed to be with these topics. It is a very entertaining and important story that has a few flaws, but I would strongly recommend it.
