Okay, it's not easy to rate this book. First of all I want to say that I liked book 1 more than book 2. Book 1 was a way more cohesive heist story while book 2 was very political and also introducing many new characters which sadly took away from the main group. I really liked the kandra murder mystery he introduced. Probably my favorite storyline and I was able to figure it out before the reveal. So clever. Cant wait to re-read. That being said, it couldve been more impactful if we had actually spent more time with the main group and the suspects in this book. The first part of this book was super strong and the ending was twisty and breathtaking. The clear weakness of this book is the middle part which keeps dragging with its politics and talks that lead nowhere. I do however think/hope this this is the typical middle-book syndrome aka. Sacrifice the second book to set up a lot of clues and storylines for bigger payoff in the third and last book when all hell breaks lose. So while this wasnt the strongest book Im hoping for a killer finale. Brandon Sanderson clearly isn't afraid to kill off characters. So the stakes are high!

The second book in Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn series completely thrilled me once again! Sanderson creates a complex and fascinating world that immediately captivates the reader. The magic system is not only creative, but also logical and well thought out, so that everything makes clear sense. In this book, we get deeper impressions of the characters, their development and their inner conflicts, which makes the story even more intense. Some moments touched me so much emotionally that I cried because many twists and turns were completely unexpected. Nevertheless, there were a few small aspects that didn't quite convince me compared to the first book, which is why I'm taking half a star away. Nevertheless, a clear recommendation - 4.5/5 ⭐️
