They have been protected from being discovered for thousands of years; now, terrifyingly, the protection has worn thin, and creatures are breaking through.Then a girl, Mal, appears in Christopher's world. She is in possession of a flying coat, is being pursued by a killer and is herself in pursuit of a baby griffin. Mal, Christopher and the griffin embark on an urgent quest across the wild splendour of the Archipelago, where sphinxes hold secrets and centaurs do murder, to find the truth – with unimaginable consequences for both their worlds. Together the two must face the problem of power, and of knowledge, and of what love demands of us.

Rezension von DeniseEine tolle Welt für Jugendliche. Und auch für Erwachsene schön geschrieben. Etwas komplex mit all den verschiedene Wesen. Aber die Geschichte selbst hat mir sehr gut gefallen. Eine richtige Abenteuergeschichte mit ganz viel Fantasy. Richtig toll auch gestaltet.
Rezension von KrissiFür ein Kinderbuch ab 10 habe ich schon eine Weile gebraucht um es zu Ende zu lesen. Ich habs generell immer sehr schwierig mit Kindern als Protagonisten, meistens sind sie einfach da und unterscheiden sich nicht grossartig zu anderen Kinderfiguren in Büchern. Christopher und Mel waren nicht wirklich fesselnd und haben mich nicht grossartig interessiert. Die Welt und die Wesen jedoch fand ich mega spannend, das Konzept fand ich auch eher originell und habe sowas in der Art schon lang nicht mehr in einem Kinderbuch gelesen. Ich fande auch die Nebencharaktäre mega herzig und wie sie miteinander interagiert haben, der found family trope was serving!! Fazit: Für ein Kinderbuch wurde ich genug unterhalten. gehts besser? ja Würde ich es empfehelen? absolut wenn du unter 14 bist
