Rezension von Kim"Ich spürte ein Prickeln im Nacken. Es gab einen Grund, weshalb das Hotel Magnifique die Menschen reihenweise nach Luft schnappen und große Augen machen ließ. Denn normalerweise war Magie etwas Seltenes, Gefährliches und musste um jeden Preis gemieden werden." Jani wünscht sich ein besseres Leben für sich und ihre jüngere Schwester Zosa. Darum möchten sie sich um die begehrten Jobs im Hotel Magnifique bewerben. Das Hotel ist etwas ganz Besonderes, denn um Mitternacht wechselt es den Ort und reist so mit seinen Gästen um die ganze Welt. Doch der Schein trügt und bald schon findet Jani das verborgene Geheimnis des Hotels heraus. Ein schönes, geheimnisvolles Setting, das meiner Fantasie viel Platz bieten konnte. Das Konzept des Hotels fand ich wirklich spannend und es erinnerte mich ein wenig an den Nacht Zirkus von Erin Morgenstern. Anfang und Ende des Buchs waren super, die Mitte hat sich leider etwas gezogen. Dort hätte man mehr auf die Charaktere eingehen können. Die fand ich persönlich sehr interessant, jedoch etwas oberflächlich gehalten. Natürlich handelt es sich hierbei um einen Einzelband, der auch einfach nicht genug "Platz" für alles bietet. Die Story wurde langsam aufgebaut, um am Ende dann ziemlich abrupt aufgelöst zu werden. Da hat mir einfach etwas die Spannung gefehlt. Alles in allem ein gutes Buch, das in die fantasievoll gestaltete Welt des Hotel Magnifique einlädt.

Rezension von BerraI wish this book got the recognition it deserves because it teleported me into a different universe! This book had everything I wanted: <b>magic, mystery</b> and a <b>beautiful love story</b>. I’m obsessed with Bel and Janie. These two were to die for! I couldn’t get enough of them. If you like Caraval or Phantasma you NEED to read it!! 4/5 stars
