Rezension von Lenawhat a cosy, unique, and fun romance novel. the slow burn was very well done, the fact that it's a The Christmas Carol retelling was fantastic, and the entire ghost infrastructure was so funny. so many important topics were dealt with in a comforting way. family expectations, love, grief, and longing were all wrapped in a christmasy sweet love story. I think the ending could've been different, but it was expected and still cute. I highly recommend you check it out, it's a lovely read even when it's not christmas time

Rezension von EmilyMit Zuckerstangen und Pfefferminztee kann Good Spirits die Weihnachtszeit verzaubern – vorausgesetzt, man kommt in die Geschichte rein. Ich habe mich bei diesem Buch vom Hype anstecken lassen und war eigentlich voller Vorfreude, mein erstes Weihnachtsbuch für dieses Jahr zu hören. Aber irgendwie habe ich diese Geschichte nicht gefühlt. Der Anfang hat mich leider gar nicht überzeugt und ich bin mit Harriet als Protagonistin nicht wirklich warm geworden. Vor allem beim ersten Treffen mit dem Geist Nolan, der sie heimsucht, habe ich gemerkt, dass mir ihre Reaktionen oft zu überzeichnet waren und mich emotional eher rausgezogen haben. Mit zunehmender Handlung hat sich mein Leseerlebnis zum Glück etwas verändert. Es wurde sehr viel spannender, weil endlich Dinge enthüllt wurden, und das letzte Viertel hat mir auch wirklich gut gefallen – vor allem die Charakterentwicklung – aber in der Gänze hat es mich nicht überzeugt. 𝐅𝐚𝐳𝐢𝐭: Good Spirits ist weihnachtlich, tiefgründig und süß geschrieben, aber dem Hype wurde es für mich leider nicht ganz gerecht.
