Yuriko, a girl who lives in a fishing village in southeast Japan, loves and is trusted by the animals, especially Ruka the dolphin who once saved her life. One day a huge swarm of dolphins comes into the bay, and the fishermen decide to kill all the dolphins to save their fishing grounds.
