All 20 year old Daisy Haites has ever wanted is a normal life, but it's just not on the cards for her. Raised by her older brother Julian since their parents were murdered in front of them 12 years ago, Daisy hasn't ever lived beyond the watchful gaze of her gang lord brother. But Julian's line of work means that Daisy's life is...complicated. And things don't become any less complex when she falls hard for Christian Hemmes, the beautiful and emotionally unavailable boy she's been involved with for the last few months, who also happens to be one of the few men in London who doesn't answer to Julian. Christian's life is no walk in the park either, being in love with his best friend's girlfriend and all? He's happy enough to use Daisy to throw off the scent of his true affections, that is until she starts to infiltrate those too.As their romance blossoms into something neither were anticipating, Daisy, Christian, and Julian each have to come to terms with the fact that in this life everything comes at a price. As their relationships intersect and tangle, they all learn that sometimes life's most worthwhile pursuits can only be paid in blood.

📖 Daisy Haites by Jessa Hastings ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫✨ 3,75 stars I’m really glad I decided to continue with the second book in this series because I ended up enjoying the characters so much more this time around. That being said, I still absolutely hated Magnolia in this one. Like, honestly, fuck Magnolia. Daisy, on the other hand, was such a pleasant surprise. Daisy Haites shifts the focus to Daisy, Julian’s younger sister, and her complicated life surrounded by secrets, family drama, and a messy love triangle. As she tries to navigate her relationships with two very different men, we get to see a completely different side of the world Jessa Hastings created in the first book. And honestly, Daisy was such a likeable and complex character. I don’t even know exactly why, but I connected with her so much more than I did with Magnolia. I really enjoyed following her story and getting to know her as a character. Her love triangle was messy, complicated, and frustrating at times, especially because the lack of communication between everyone STILL drove me insane. But somehow, it bothered me so much less this time because at least Daisy was actually likeable. I also finally remembered why I liked Christian in the last book. He is so much more complex and layered than Magnolia Parks made him seem, and I really enjoyed getting to see more of his character. Julian was another character I liked for most of the book… until the final parts. I don’t want to spoil anything, but damn. Just… what the fuck? Overall, I enjoyed this book so much more than the first one. Daisy is such an interesting, layered, and genuinely likeable character, and I really enjoyed reading her story. I’ll definitely continue with the other two books, but if I’m being completely honest, I’m mostly here for Daisy at this point.
noch besser als der erste band magnolia parks, da es irgendwie mehr handlung gab
