Nicht umsonst in meinen Lieblings Büchern dabei, es ist großartig, eklig und jedesmal überkommt mich eine Gänsehaut wenn ich es lese.
boring, racist, sexist, gross. i guess that was the point?
Habe den Roman vor 5 min beendet und bin absolut überfordert damit wie ich das Buch bewerten soll..

Honestly, this book was everything I had wished it to be. The pure gore in the murder scenes was phenomenally written, and it was as disgusting as it needed to be to truly show the character of Patrick Bateman. To be frank, Bateman is just a pathetic Wallstreet-Guy that is obsessed with perfectionism and materialism. His ongoing descriptions of designer clothes and furniture characterise him as a superficial person, which I didn’t perceive as annoying as it served as an explanation to his character. Moreover, it is obvious that Bateman reduces women to be mere objects not only in his sick serial killer fantasies, but also outside of them. However, in the end the book evolved into being a bit boring, even though it wasn’t lacking any brutality, due to the hallucinations Bateman has that were quite abstruse. Well, maybe I just anticipated him to be caught by the police or any other changing revelation, so the ending left me unsatisfied in the slightest. Overall, this is a more than solid horror/thriller book, if you enjoy rather graphic scenes.
