Für mich wars irgendwie ziemlich vorhersehbar. Die Perspektivwechsel wirken eher wiederholend als wirklich spannend. Der "Plottwist" hat sich schon Meilen vorher angekündigt. Als Film, gut produziert, könnte ich mir die Geschichte besser vorstellen. Der Titel klingt hier wesentlich dramatischer, als es am Ende war.
Der Thriller hat mich von Anfang an gefesselt, was vor allem am wunderbar leichten und direkten Schreibstil von Shari Lapena liegt. Das Buch liest sich unglaublich schnell. Man wird förmlich durch die Seiten gezogen, weil man unbedingt wissen möchte, was als Nächstes passiert. Beim Lesen konnte ich zwar zu keiner der Figuren eine besondere Bindung aufbauen, aber dennoch war ich sehr an ihnen interessiert, da jeder etwas zu verbergen hat und Lapena hervorragend mit dem gegenseitigen Misstrauen spielt. Das Buch hat viele Twists. Auch wenn ich den einen oder anderen schon vorausahnen konnte, war der letzte Twist für mich absolut nicht vorhersehbar. Das macht das Ende wirklich überraschend.
