Dnf this for a number of reason. The first book was alright, cute story if not really that great in execution. But this one had me rolling my eyes more than I could count. The whole world of this book seems like a kind of movie town, like facades with nothing behind it. And omg the couple dynamic of Reyna and Kianthe is so terrible. Kianthe was basically demoted to an annoying child even though she is the supposed "mage of ages" and Reyna is just a cookie cutter template for a Mary Sue character. I feel like they have a super awkward if not heavily imbalanced chemistry. I also still dislike the way too modern writing for this medieval fantasy setting. Overall could not warm up to this series even though I yearned for a cute queer fantasy book. So sad :/
