Hab’s geliebt
Liked the first book more, still want to read the third one though...
LOVED, LOVED, LOVED IT. Schwab's writing is on point, very easy to imagine her worlds and characters.
It took me some time to get back into the story but towards the end I could not put the book down. It started really slowly so that for the first hundred pages I was waiting for the story to begin. I really wanted to like the book, since I loved the first one, so I continued reading. And I think it was worth it, although it did not blow me away. It is more like a classical second book in a trilogy. It builds the story up for the third and final part. As for the characters, I am rooting for Alucard (thankfully he is not a vampire as first assumed). I like the story line between him and Rhys and I am curious how this will develop. The romance between Kell and Lila, well, I was not a fan of this in the beginning. I was more hoping they would be partners in crime and not partners in love, but I grew to like them together. Lila is sometimes too much one of a kind. Yes, we are getting it. But a bit less of telling it to the readers might have been nice. The last fifth of the book... what a cliffhanger. I am really looking forward reading the last book.
